1.Best International Student/Graduate Film
The Fairy Tale Cookery Chronicle

The Fairy Tale Cookery Chronicle was shortlisted for the 9th Balkanima Animation Film Festival, Serbia, 2012.



2.Best Irish Student/Graduate Film
by Graham Tormey and Fiona Healy, BCFE.

Graham is currently working with Geronimo Animation in Dublin and Fiona is working with Doodle Animation in London. “Spiders” also won the Digital Exchange’s “Best In Show” competition in 2012.

3.Community Recognition Award

Flee in – Should have got a takeaway
Kilogramme Animation, Manchester, UK.

This film by Kilogramme was departure on last year’s winner that focused on depression. “Flee” won this category as it was a funny film that got the message across about fire safety.


4.Best Under 18s Film
Rubbish Express
The Pure Project, Wicklow

5.Best International Short Film
Self- Portrait
by Il Luster Productions, the Netherlands.

For the second year in a row, this was won by an animator from the Netherlands. Thomas Coltof created the film for il luster – you can view a clip here



6.Best Storytelling for Children
No little Brothers Allowed
Graham Scott, Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, (IADT)

Graham is a graduate of IADT and currently working for Geronimo Animation in Dublin. This simple story was a hit with the younger audiences!

This IFTA nominated film was directed by James Stacey, produced by Seán Smith and scripted by Matthew Darragh and James Stacey. The original score was composed by Rónán Ó Snodaigh of Kíla. ‘Origin’ was supported by the Irish Film Board.
